Comment: We have three Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers that we use almost every time we cook - this is the main cookware we use. It's fast, easy, and it saves energy because it takes less time to cook. And the food's gret - I like eating at home better than any restaurant.

Comment: I bought this pressure cooker after having used my Kuhn Rikon 2.5 and 5 quart models for the past five years. I love this brand and have been more than satisfied every time I use them. I wanted something a bit larger so that I could double soup recipes and cook corn on the cob, and this 12 quart model certainly fits the bill! I cooked 18 ears of corn and there was still room for plenty more, just count on it taking more time for pressure to be reached since the internal volume is so huge. I highly recommend this whole line of pressure cookers, no where else will you find such a well made and quiet pressure cooker, they are worth their weight in gold for any cook who wants to save energy and time. Plus, Amazon has the best price I found on the internet!

Summary: A super great tool for any kitchen
Comment: I replaced my 8 qt. Presto PC with this one a few years back. I bought this one because of it's big enough to make large batches of soup. I make the best homemade soups and stews in record time.
This thing is solid and well crafted, best of all, no loose parts. I disagree with the person who complained about the short handles. For a pot this size, I think that you are less likely to spill when the handles are even. I've never burned myself. I would highly reccomend this pressure cooker.

Comment: New York times reviewed this as the "Mercedes Benz of Pressure Cookers" and since reading that we have bought two different sizes. We love ours and find the replacement parts like sealing rings easy to obtain through several retailers as well as the toll-free customer service number.
This pressure cooker makes risotto in minutes, pea-soup in a fourth of normal time and is outstanding for people with little time and energy for preparing meals.
The excellent recipes and web site support make the Duromatic one of the finest kitchen appliances we have owned.
