Customer Rating: Summary: Reliable and very handy electric tea kettle Comment: I love this tea kettle. Very handy and I use it all the time. Especially since the hot water faucet isn't working in the kitchen.
My old one lasted for years and I was thrilled to find it at Amazon when after years of constant use it finally needed replacement.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Nice Electric Tea Kettle Comment: My wife and I have been using this style electric tea kettle to boil water for our instant coffee for 20+ years. They last about 5-6 years on the average with multiple daily use. Lasts longer if you dump the unused water out after each use. Heats water fast, has a handy length cord and is virtually trouble-free. The only place I've been able to find them anymore is online. Hasn't seemed to go up in price much over the years. A great little item! Hope they don't stop making them any time soon.
Customer Rating: Summary: Do you trust plastics? Comment: This tea kettle works fine for what it is-- a plastic tea kettle. The water is actually heated in a plastic container, and you can smell the plastic in the steam coming off-- at least for the first dozen fillings, which is all I have tried. Given the many known and unknown health effects of compounds coming from plastics, do you really want to drink the water that it heats?
Customer Rating: Summary: Still going strong Comment: I bought my kettle in '95. It might be an earlier model than the one featured here (though they look identical) but it's still going strong for more than ten years. These are great for college students and those with limited storage. The kettle gets the water boiling hot in minimal time. I would definitely recommend this product.
Customer Rating: Summary: Heats Water FAST Comment: I have owned one of these for years. It still actually works, but developed a small leak, so it lives out in the garage now where I use it for heating water for the dogs meals. I had to buy another for my kitchen. It heats water faster than a microwave and heating water is all I use it for. I guess the fact that I replaced the old one with the same product speaks for itself.
