Customer Rating: Summary: I now have 4 of these..... Comment: They are so useful! Solid, not flimsy construction. Have even survived my oops-not-paying-attention burnt foods and polished up to the original STAINLESS look!
Customer Rating: Summary: $35? for Measures that are faintly painted on the inside; Handle that is soldered not welded on Comment: Just received today. Wanted to post this for others considerations before buying.
This is a cute little 2-qt. pot. Nice idea, the style being tall rather than typically wide, and little additions of measuring indicator and glass, strainer lid. However...
1. The measures are painted in black on the pan interior. So faint, they look more dark grey than black. Many little paint splatters between the 1 & 2-cup levels, and around the 8-cup. (Maybe their stencil needs repair?) Wonder if the measures will come off with use.
2. The handle is soldered on!!! It is not welded! I put up to the light and can see the 2 spots on each handle side where the solders were placed. Will it just break off when holding hot boiled liquids???
3. Also, you can see indents inside the pan where the handle is soldered to the exterior. Looks and feels cheap.
4. Lid rim is not smoothly sealed; I can feel the edge of the metal where it meets, on both the inside and outside.
5. Construction of pot seems solid. *Crosses fingers.*
And to let Norpro know about the quality of this Krona product. I hope they do better quality assurance at their factory in China. This pot cost me $35.00. On the high side for a 2-quart pot. It should have a secure handle on it. And it would be nice if the measurements were boldly printed, perhaps the metal indented, therefore easy to read. Mine is on the faint side.
Other than these concerns, it is a cute little pot that I hope will be handy and sturdy for every day use. It's so cute, for the time being, I have it displayed on my stove. I'd like it to last for a lifetime -- at least for the rest of this second half of mine. ;)
Customer Rating: Summary: Great concept, but check the diameter Comment: I love the concept of this pot - an easy-to-hold handle, glass top, ability to strain and vent, and inside markings. However, I failed to take into account that the small diameter of this pot - 5 inches - makes it unusable on the largest, most powerful burner of my gas range. That burner cover is 4 inches in diameter, and the flame diameter is roughly five inches. As a result, the flame goes up the sides of the pot - bad for the pot and a waste of gas. So, I have to use it on a smaller back burner which puts out fewer BTUs of heat, and it slows down the time it takes to get water to boil.
Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome little Krona pot Comment: I bought this pot to use in my RV. I like it so well, I ordered another one for my home! Perfect size, perfect shape for lots of things.
Customer Rating: Summary: StoveTop Wonder Comment: I love this little pot! The strainer lid makes it so convenient when I'm throwing together quick meals. It also boils very evenly and stands up to daily wear and tear. I keep it on the stovetop at all times, and use it everyday - from oatmeal to rice to frozen peas - it's my little favorite.
