The 75% savings paid for a complete 10-piece set of Cuisinart Chef's Classic stainless steel. (Bought the original Le Creuset in 1991 as part of a 2 fry pans, 2 sauce, 1 dutch oven set for $170.) Don't know yet if I like the shallower/wider shape as I'm so accustomed to long-cooking dishes in a deep pot. But, it is a generous 6-qts. (rather than 5), it cooks the same, and the quality is on par with the Le Creuset. There is not as much surface contact with the heating element, but I love the rounded interior bottom for stirring up the pot! This Lodge enameled cast-iron is a beauty--bought the blue one, it feels good to cook in, and I'm so glad to have found a replacement for my favorite, most used pot.
